NICAI orientation, Formal nite

It's the National Institute of Creative Arts and Industries (NICAI) orientation today.
That means I have to go too.

It was ok, except for the loong (15 mins actually, but felt very long) introduciton to NICAI n it's goals... ==ll Aiya, dun need to tell intro that la, i mean like, we have already joined the programme ma, it sounds like she is promoting this programme to non auckland Uni students. Soooo sian, nearly fell asleep.

One of the activities is the amazing race competition. Didnt really felt like doin it cos my stomach's empty and growling. haha. But Tim seems (he's from IH too n doin the same programme) to be very eager bout it. I tagged along, it's an individual task la, but we team up; too bad for me, this time no 2nd year friends to help out..haha. SO both of us blur la a bit, good thing we teamed up, at least I felt more confident. He not as blur as me la..haha.

We are supposed to do tasks that requires you to run around the NICAI buildings- which I'm have absolutely no idea where is where. I know where the boxing , gym, n shopping places are la. haha. Plus the fact that the Buildings themselves are weird, i's not really easy to find ur way around. The structures are weird (well it IS an arts building)..@_@

Anyway, after asking a few people for directions n answers haha, we finally finished the tasks. We ran to the place to hand it in, and realize that u dun have to rush actually, cos as long as u pass it before 1.45pm it's ok. Dang, so we ran for nothing? haha. Good workout though.

Had barbecued tofu sausage n some salad for lunch, with a Jazz band playing background music. Then we had, some questions n answer sessions, where u win prizes. Didnt win anything, was close though. But nvm, that's not the whole point of this orientation anyway, at least I get to strenghten my ties with Tim. haha, I sound like a politician or smth. teruknya~~

Tim was nice enough to bring me to put in credits for my printing n photostating account. Cos I have no idea where it is. haha. And nice of him to ask whether I had anything else I wanted to check out or do. Wah, so helpful, i was thinking he'll head back after the orientation. He actually helped me in the music library too, asking whether i want to print the enrolment page out, cos I was doin it the traditional way, pen n paper. haha. ==lll That is when we realize I don't have $$ in my account.

We had, formal dinner today, I wore my blue cheongsam, with a black slacks, wore contacts n some light makeup. haha, I guess this is the first time my friends see me dressed so proper? Not in my usual 3 quarter pants n T shirt. haha. See~ I can look pretty too, if i wan to. =p

It's quite fun, drank some wine, and tried NZ's famous desert, pavlova - a large meringue filled with whipped cream. It's very sweet... wah, malaysian oso tak tahan. Good to eat when u have large sugar cravings, u will just need to have one or two tablespoonful of it.

new friends!

hehe, met a new friend through alena today.

She came visiting in the afternoon, i was free cos didnt go for the long bay beach trip. cos 'm stingy and i kind of still have my period. although surprisingly very little. i think it lasted only for 3-4 days? weird.

So, alena, we watched some animes n pvs, wow, uruha's really pretty! i'm mean like, how often do u find guys with pouty lips? not mentioning his erm, sexy thighs?? haah. but i have to say that sakito from Nightmare has the nicest midrift. Oh, the animes were hilarious! it's so random! lol

walked Alena to the bus stop, and met John there. He's something like a family friend of hers'. It seems that John plays in the french horn in the youth orchestra, wow, and he's studying masters for civil engineering, and seems to be an ardent christian too! O_O

He is supposed to go for an orchestra like in 3.5 hours time. So we lepak around la, he toured me around the music faculty; we went to the practice rooms and he played forest gump by memory on piano. He's not a pianist, he only learned that piece cos he likes it a lot. It's like so random, he just finds a room and plays it, wow!

Then we proceed to the business building, which is new. We sat at the sofas on the top floor, n chat about how his parents came to NZ during the recession (parents r M'sian), their struggles, NZ education, life, Malaysian ed. sys, stupid quota stuffs, food, he can cook! haha. unlike me, steam everything, gau dim. ==lll

Went back to International House for dinner together. I didnt know that non IH students can eat here too, they can get coupons in sets of ten meals. It's cheaper than eating out, cos around 5-6 NZ i think. Eating out will cos aound 8-10nz. It's cheap and u get a balance diet, lots of veggies, meat, and fruits. Sometimes with deserts.

Great to have met him, and Alena otherwise my day will be a real boring one cos I did not join the trip to longbay beach. U need to get the 'o week ticket' which cos 40 nz. it consist of a couple of trips such as the museum trip, longbay beach, rainbow's end (theme park), S party. 40 nz is like 100 ringgit! ok, i'm kind of the kiam siap la, but i can think of so many things to do with that 40 nz. haha. such as buying my drugs.

What kind of seme are u?

haha nothing to do , did this quiz~

What type of seme are you?

You are the Angsty seme! Indifferent and emotionally cold, you seem totally reluctant to have any kind of real relationship for fear that you will get hurt / they will get hurt / someone will get hurt / etc. This is probably due to a dark depressing past which you will only open up to in time.

NZ

ok, for everybody, that's wondering y there's nothing comin from me. THis is the update.

1st day- tired, hungry, bluuur, (alien surrounding, made new friend in airport just before boarding- sat tgt cos i have two seats, she's fr NZ n she's chinese n she's into animes, jrock.., waited veeery long for luggage, took long time to unpack, super irritated cos hp not working, even when aunt call fr auckland itself, can't contact through voipbuster too cos didnt get the code right, plus i'm tired n hungry (didnt have lunch) so can't think clearly, n mum keep bugging me bout contacting her, n i have other things to worry about such as bnk account, payments, n stuffs. Missed dinner, cos the smart ass chef wanted to leave early n didnt put up notice, WTF?? even the Resident Assistant told me the wrong time (guess she doesnt know), damn hungry , go out and buy can tuna- pissed off cos i dun wanna spend money. oh, and my toes hurt like hell cos shoes not fitting properly. =( (hav blisters the next few days- which i poked it open, n it healed)

2nd day- did all the bothersome stuffs, bank account, get hangers, n some other misc stuff. Walked around the city area, checked out boxing studio, n landmarks.

3rd day- went for boxing trial class (quite far- takes 20-30 minutes), bad day, was raining from morning till nite, I was drenched upon reaching the studio. Wind here is very strong, almost blew me away, seriously. I mean like, come on, wat's this? it's suppose to be summer! wanted to do a lot of other stuffs but can't cos everything close. damn. and my draft will only be cleared by wed.

4th day- went to church with aunt, walked to foodtown to get some stuff.

5th day- orientation in morning, uni tour, freebies, signed up for gym.

6ht day- at last! went for gym, uni gym rocks! it's soo huge, bigger than EITP in SS2, it has a boxing studio too!friend came to visit, after she left proceed to britomart to 'the warehouse' to get some mosquito repellant cos stupid mosquitoes bitting me, though they wouldnt hav mosquitoes around here.

7th day- went gym, participated in scavenger's hunt (organize by hostel) around the city, omg, we walked from 1.30 to 5pm; practically walked fr one end to the other of the city, my legs are soo gone by then- it's not even road u noe, there are hills here and there..agh... good thing there is a human map with us, there is 5 of us, the other 4 are exchange students from korea, they spaek really good english! exactly like the americans! I was the only 1st year student in that group, which was great, cos they solved everything. hahaha. well, I'm clueless when it comes to direction. I got lost in my hostel the first two days.

Overall, I've been mixing with a mix of asians and westerners, trying to not stick with the koreans all the time, gotta explore a little ma. hehe. But I still find it easier to converse with asians (even though they are locals). Haven't really got hold of the topics of 'guai lous.' The rarer international students are, russian (1), Briton (1), Holland (1).

oh, and their favourite expression is 'sweet~' 'cool~'

oh, and we have communal toilets haha, guys n gals using the same one. cool~ weird having a guy brushing his teeth beside u when u r washing ur bra .. lol (has not happened to me yet), and guy walking pass ur room with u hanging bra n undies at the doorway. rfol.

Valentines day

Made valentines gift for K.

Was thinking that I should do smth for K too, since he's the one that pays for most of our outing.

Irritating part is, I couldn't find my tools, where is my toolbox?? Anyway, managed to make the gift after some delays (I hate delays).

Was thinking of what to put inside the jar- the gift, hmm.. chocalated? but K said he's been eating too much chocalates and CNY rubbish, which in turn gave him some cough n he's voice changed. ok, how bout the protein bars he's been wanting to get that day? ok, seems like a nice enough idea. Yeah, nice idea, but I can't find it in Savemart. Thought Kiwi fruits will be quite nice too (since it's healthy), bought 2, went home and try to fit it in, damn, it's too big! aaargh~~~!

Okay, I ended up buying a bunch of bananas, and took one out to fit in the jar, which fits perfectly! yay, looks funny too! haha. .and a little naughty. =p

I'm sooo not gonna follow the typical valentines gift, have make it different, with a touch of Huey in it. hehe. and of course it's cheap! You don't need to spend a whole deal on presents really. It's the sincerity that counts. for me at least ==

We had dinner at Vintrys (i think that's the name) at Jaya33, the food suck, big time, DO NOT GO THERE unless you enjoy eating canned tuna, and tasteless spaggetti, and paying through your nose.

@#$% LRT

Stupid train, took me 2.5 hours to get home. The worse part was attempting to stop those bloody taxis at the main-road at 5pm. Stupid taxis just wouldn't stop even though there's no passenger in it. Moreover, if they DO stop, they wouldn't want to take you to your destination. WTF?!
Imagine breathing in all the excretion of the vehicles on road!

Anyway, the train managed to move, so RE-took the train, which is moving slowly, and stopping at stops for an extremely loooong time. Well at least I should be grateful to have a seat. at least I wouldn't need to stand and be squashed like sardin.

Reached my stop, went down, and cross the road without umbrella- it was raining. Held my Graduation cert closely to my chest as I wouldn't want it to get drenched. The Last thing I'd need now is my cert getting ruined.

They shouldn't call it Light Rail Transit, it should be Slow Rail Transit.

Dinner at Future Chef's house

Seriously, we (me, , S and ccy) were there just for the food~ haha
The Seafood cabonara was real good! and yeah it took Nick real long to prepare it. Thx Nick!

The house was so packed! This the first time I've experienced a CNY family gathering consisting of so many people! So this is how CNY family gathering feels like~
My CNY eve dinner used to have more people, nowadays it has shrinked, cause everybody's scatered around the earth.

After dinner we went to NZX, but it was closed, so we just walked around admiring the dazzling man made plum blossom tree embeded with pink and blue lights. It really is a beautiful scene, together with the moonlight lit sky and cool breeze. Of course ignoring the fact that there is this really ugly and irritating stretch of black netting along the walkway. ==lll

S n ccy wanted to catch CJ7 at the cinema, but it'll be kinda late after the show, and also, i told dad i'll be back before 11pm, plus bro's gone to Genting, and parents are not feeling well, and I'm sort of tired (mentally). I have no idea why but I tend to dread going out with friends, it's not that i dislike them, but more so i get tired from social meetings and I feel the burden to actually communicate and not be antisocial. It's like my energy gets zapped away.

We ended up at my house, ccy and S came in S wanted to borrow some or more like a whole lot of my classical cds, lol! and also I need to pass her a blank DVD for the 'jiu wu zhi zhun'. (good luck in finishing to the whole lot of cds S. XD)

Realized my relatives came to visit while I was gone, yes, more angpaus!haha.
We chated for around an hour before they make a move.

one hour after that, ccy's mum called and asked whether he's still with me and S.. lol, i was like, erm..nope he went back an hour ago.. Then she asked for S phone num, cause ccy not picking up hp. lol. maybe they go watch CJ7 liao. haha.

Thailand

Went to Phuket with bro on january 17th-22th-
It was fun, went for Muay Thai, Jet Ski, and swimming!

Yeah, Muay Thai was tough.. bloody hell, the warm up is like skipping for 1/2 an hour?! With some kind off weird old skool- heavy skipping rope or maybe I should put it ..skipping pipe?? The irritating part is the rope is too long! I can't shorten it (cause I'll need to unscrew d nat) so I ended up swinging it harder and positioning me hands further away from my body for like 1/2 hour, and sometimes my palm gets caught in between the holder. aargh!

The rope aside, the workout was kind of fun, cause I learned new stuff such as elbows and knees. Also, they play nice music at the background- old school rock. Great stuff! Seriously the skipping is so boring.. good thing they play nice music.

After like training for 2 days ..2 days ONLY, my calves are done. I can't walk. seriously, going down the stairs is a torture. I'd actually plan to go for more classes but my legs are dead, damn. It's the skipping.. gee why do they hav to skip so long? On the other hand, i'm quite happy I managed to work my calves, usually I don't feel it sore during legs workout.

I'd say their training is more cardio based: pads workout (kicks n punches as instructed), 3-4 rounds of bag workout- last 30 seconds fast non-stop punches or kicks, cool down. Well that's for me cause I'm new. Old timers get to spar. Downside is, they don't teach you much techniques, well, they do correct ur knees and elbows, but A is still a better coach. =p

I was actually thinking of going there to have fun, like, learn some new stuff and not so tiring workout. Thought they are gonna be more lenient towards new comers. Well in the website they mentioned you don't have to be 100% fit and that there are beach goers n people who just wanted to have fun n get some workout join. yeah rite.. uuh tertipu pulak. Or maybe I shouldnt skip properly in the begining so they wouldn't torture me seeing that I'm a noob. lol.
Plus I'm not the kind to say i'm too tired for the next workout, i'll feel bad or smth or in mandarin: bu hao yi si, so I'll hang on till the end.. >_<

From left: Pat, me, Shuki

3rd Day-
Walked to Muay Thai center in the morning to train (training starts 7.30am), Pat the instructor offered me a lift back, which was cool! Save moi $ from taking motorbike taxis and my legs. thank God. Should have ask earlier for transport. =p

Later in the evening around 4.30pm, me and bro went for a swim; was waiting for the sun to go down.. dun wanna get sunburn or tan. haha. We were the only weirdos walking around with sunglasses , sunblock and umbrella. Had dinner, did some shopping, rented a crappy jeep, went back to our little room to watch TV, and just when we were about to sleep, Pat messsaged asking ur to join them at a bar in Rawai beach. After a bout of yeses and no we decided to go. Which we were glad we did, it was entertaining!

At the bar: there is this dude that hits the tambourine on the bar table (tambourine and shakers provided by bar) which alarms the workers.. haha. and he kept doing that on and off. and took off his shirt n dance inside the bar The workers are so cute and sporting, they too played around with funny man, snatching tambourines, ass hitting, dancing. ooh, they can dance really well! On of the male worker, sorta sissyfied- which actually makes him adorable! can really dance, effeminate style~

I had a glass of water at the begining.. didnt want to drink alchohol, one thing is the calories, another is I can't have full control of myself when I drink which leads to ..stuffs.. and I don't really like not being in full control.. I'll give into temptations. and dissappoint people.. I hate to think of that, it makes me sad. Anyway, I did ordered a Long Island Tea, cause I don't wanna sit there and get bored like the last time I went with A. And I'm glad I did. i kind of drank it really fast, one of the guys was like, wow, slow down, u're gonna go drunk like that. I prefer drinking it fast and get over with it..for alchohols at least. it's not smth i'd like to sip on slowly. cause it's bitter. haha. lame-nya. Bro ordered orange juice/ pineapple juice, can't really remember..haha. Then when I ordered my share of alchohol, he got himself a Singha.

4th day-
Woke up because of gastric, felt bad in the mouth, then I remembered I didn't brush my tongue n teeth after the drink, and the alchohol smell stayed. yucks can't stand it, went and brush till it's pink and clean. felt much better. took 2 tablets of Marlox Plus.

Went to Patong beach, walked around, at a really slow pace and dragging my legs cause my freaking calves are hurting like hell. It's like 30% of my normal walking pace. ugh, irritating. And the sun was soooo hot! it's burning! Can't imagine how those westerners stand the heat; walking around in bikinis, some with seriously sun burned skin. Ouch. @_@

Our crappy powerless jeep

Ordered lunch, which took really loooong to prepare. Good thing we ordered a drink, which we can sip while waiting for the food.

Tried the leg reflextory massage; was thinking maybe I can massage the sore away from my calf muscle.Well, it didn't help much. And I did a really stupid thing by bathing right after the massage (they used tiger balm) and going into a rather cool air-conditioned room. I sort of felt really cold and have to set the heater really high when bathing.. but didn't realize I was sick till the next day.

Went to Go-Go bar at night. Watched some 'performance', and pole dance. Left the place cause bored. Checked out d ladyboys on the street. Wow, they are tall and some are really pretty; their dress are really nice too! I want I want~ Saw a couple dressed SM style.. and didn't look nice in it. ==lll Gackt looks nicer la. gyahaha.

5th day-
Woke up with a heavy head, and thought it's just morning groggy-ness and maybe I should go exercise to wake myself up, turned out I'd fever. Only realise it after a bout of swimming and jet skiing. ==lll didn't do much this day, cause I'm sick.. went to watch the sunset at viewing point in Rawai beach.. didn't enjoy it cause I'm sick. I think I caught a cold cause everytime I bath I felt really bad, like, cold bad.. I need boiling hot water to momentary feel better. Really shouldn't have bath right after massage. Oh, and I had sore thorat too.. and a bit of gastric.

6th day-
Fever still there but better, sore throat, calves hurt.. Anyway it's the last day, just have to survive the journey back and rest.

The next few days my fever's gone but I was attacked by phlem, cough, and generally felt weak. Still, I went for weight workout the 7th day. yeah call me crazy. i like doin the opposite, like workout when sick, go gym during major holidays. Couldn't run without my water tumbler, throat was burning up.. next day went for kickboxing, I was out of breath, dizzy, and nauseatic, damn must be all those antibiotics I'm taking. I took a total of 2 rounds of antibiotics. my good cells are so gone..
